Adlerian psychology views human development from a constructionist point of view. People are not only passive recipients of sensory data from their environment; they are active agents in constructing the data they perceive. We all actively interpret data according to biases that reside within the "cognitive map" or the "lifestyle" of ourselves, and each "lifestyle map" is unique to each individual. Alfred Adler's definition of the "Lifestyle" is: the individual's characteristic way of thinking, seeing and feeling towards life. It can be thought of as the person's personality type and helps us understand, predict and "control" life.

From this starting point we can begin to identify and change some of the beliefs that have been programmed into our subconscious minds that may not be beneficial to our day to day functioning and attainment of happiness.

Your life is a reflection of your beliefs.

Your beliefs, usually subconscious, are the cumulative effect of life-long "programming". As a result of past conditioning, we sometimes think and behave in self-defeating ways. Conscious thoughts can be changed more easily by simply receiving information: reading a book, having a conversation, or seeing the results of actions. If conscious information were all that was needed, then experiencing success in all areas of life would be easy. Unless changes are made at the subconscious level repeating undesired reactions and behaviours will likely continue.

Subconscious beliefs have far reaching consequences, both positive and negative, in every aspect of life. They affect moods, relationships, job performance, self-esteem and even physical health. It is imperative to know how to change limitations into beliefs that support goals and aspirations.

Energy Psychology techniques provide a variety of safe and effective ways to "rewrite the software of the mind" by changing beliefs that limit, into beliefs that support you. Energy Psychology is a "family" of methods that combines cognitive interventions(e.g. imagining a traumatic memory) with specific interventions to re-balance components of the human vibrational matrix (meridians, chakras, biofield).
